What is a Lahmacun:

So Anatolian food history is very vast and spans thousands of years.People all over the world love to eat Turkish cuisine, and to experience the simplicity and organic flavours of there cuisine.Today i am sharing another amazing recipe from Turkish foods LAHMACUN so this dish is also called as a Turkish pizza worldwide,as i mentioned Lahmacun is a flat bread like a tortilla cooked with minced meat on it,meat can be lamb or beef mince.

We have to cook the mince on the bread so that all the juices release from the meat will add more flavours to the dish.It is more appropriate if you have 20 percent fat in the mince,we will slice vegetables according to our likes or dislikes and enjoy them with lahmacun.

Things we need:

  • tortillas store bought(packet of eight)
  • 250gram minced meat
  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 2-3 sweet or mild green pepper
  • 1 capia sweet red pepper
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • isot pepper 1 teaspoon
  • cumin 1 tablespoon
  • black pepper 1/2 tablespoon
  • salt to taste
  • tomato paste 4 tablespoon
  • olive oil 2 to 3 tablespoon
  • warm water to have a spreadable consistency
  • tomatoes and onions sliced as required

how to make it:

Mince preparation:

Mince preparation is the main step of this recipe the mince should be properly spreadable and full of flavours.Take the chopper add in your mince, and all the other ingredients i mentioned , Guys isot powder is optional it is a smocky spice found in Turkish recipes. We are using a chopper but originaaly people use a special knife for this.

chop it properly and we can add a small amount of water to set its consistency,we want mince to silky so that we can spread it properly.

spreading on tortilla:

Take a tortilla wrap and take some amount of mince and spread a thin layer of meat on it if you will add extra amount then it will not cook properly. Now take a flat non stick pan place your tortilla on a butter paper first because we want to cook the mince too.

Place the tortilla and cover the pan by some lid and cook for 6 to 7 seven minutes dont flip it we have to cook it from one side the mince should be on top.Now take the butter paper out and cook until light crispy.

Final steps:

Make all of them one by one. Slice tomatoes and onions and place them in the middle and roll it.And that,s it your dish is ready to enjoy.
