Frittata ( the egg symphony)

Hi i am Maha lets discover the world of FRITTATA . Frittata is an Italian dish . Frittata is a very flexible dish we can eat it in brunch ,dinner ,lunch and in breakfast as well . It is a totally custumizable dish we can add any type of ingredients as our taste . The word Frittata is basically means to fry originally it is used for any dish which we fry in a pan .But as the time passes the Frittata specifically refer to one dish made by beating eggs and fry it in a pan adding any of the ingredients like cheese,zucchini,bell papers ,mushrooms and asparagus etc .Today, a frittata is known as a hearty, open-faced egg dish that’s similar to an omelette or crustless quiche.

A Frittata is just like a pizza made in a pan according to your choice with an addition of natural flavour of eggs . It is a budget friendly dish we can add and remove the ingredients as we wanted .As it is a Italian traditional dish so traditionally they use any ingredients they have in hand to make a fritttata like any of the leftover pastas , any of the vegies ,cured meat etc they just simply mix them with the egg mixture cook it well and enjoy .I personally prefer to eat a frittata to start my day its amazing flavours can make your day good .

Whisk, Pour, cook – Let’s Get Cooking:

Here i am going to tell easiest recipe for a frittata and you will be shocked that how amazing it will turn out .

Whisk the eggs :

Take your eggs i am using 6 eggs here .Crack all of them and put in the bowl .Take a hand whisk and beat the eggs you dont have to over beat we dont want any type of form just stir and that,s it .Now add heavy cream into it it will give it a very creamy rich flavour so basically there is no spices except salt and pepper used in a frittata . but here i am using salt, pepper,red chilli powder,coriender powder and cumin powder to give the eggs a little nutty aroma .now set aside .

Cutting the veggies :

So take a cutting board and chop a small red onion .Mince the garlic ,you can add any of the vegetable you want here i am using bell peppers,capsicum ,tomatoes and mushrooms . so cut all of them in small cubes or chop them as you wish .

Cook on the stove :

So guys take a pan and add olive oil and a cube of butter in it .now add the chopped onion in it and saute add minced garlic ,mushrooms ,bell peppers and tomatoes in it now cover and cook for a while until the vegetables become soft . Now remove the lid add your egg mixture in it and cook on low medium flame until the top start looking cooked .Sprinkle a generous amount of cheese (any type of cheese you want)on it as you know cheese is the rich, creamy heart of any dish bringing warmth, flavour, and a comforting melt that makes every bite unforgettable.Now cover the lid and cook until the cheese melts .dont overcook the eggs they will become hard .

Garnish the dish :

I am using fresh green coriander for the garnish as the fresh herbs never lie . Also as you know plating or presenting your dish is also an art here my Frittata dont have any green component at its top so that,s why to make it more attractive i am using a green element for the perfect colour making .

Things you need:

  • 6 eggs
  • Heavy cream (about 2-3 tablespoons)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • Red chili powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Coriander powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Cumin powder (1/2 teaspoon)
  • 1 small red onion (chopped)
  • 2-3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 bell pepper (chopped yellow or red)
  • 1 capsicum (chopped)
  • 1-2 tomatoes (chopped cherry tomatoes )
  • A handful of white button mushrooms (chopped)
  • Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
  • 1 cube of butter (2 tablespoon)
  • Cheese (a generous amount, any type you like)
  • Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)
